All I can say is "EWWWWW!"
What is the best way to clean a plunger after the job's done?
Rinse the plunger outside under the hose and soak in a bucket of bleach and water for at least 10 minutes. (One part bleach, four parts water.)





No hose??? Buy a large bucket and soak the plunger in hot soapy water for a few minutes. Empty the bucket into the toilet and refill the bucket with hot water and bleach. Soak for at least ten minutes.

Reply:Rinsing it in the TUB?! UGH! The toilet is one of the dirtiest places in your house, for obvious reasons. You could get an infection from the fecal residue, if it gets in the tub (unless you sterilized it afterward: TOO much work!).





The easy, fast way is: after you unplug the jam, flush again to get clean water, then pour in some bleach (any kind will do) or Lysol (these kill bacteria and some viruses), then swirl the end of the plunger around to get the inside too and remove any bits of poo. Finally, flush while holding it there and you've got a (reasonably) clean plunger!





There's no need for buckets and hoses. Your toilet has its own self-cleaning mechanism built in--it just needs a little help! Also consider putting one of those bleach pellets in the tank or bowl, so you'll have cleaner water all the time.





After cleaning, I put it in a plastic bag, filled w/Clorox powder and store it.

Reply:plunge it in the toilet bowl till any cling-ons are gone then spray with some kind of disinfectant bathroom cleaner (scrubbing bubbles) repeat till clean. EWWWW!
Reply:Well I just rinse it with scalding water in the tub after a spritz with Formula 409 or similar. Then after its dry it goes in a plastic container. (Obviously I don't use it for anything else. It doesn't smell, so I am not going to fret if a microorganism or two is still remaining.)

Reply:Flush the toilet to rinse it. Then pour some bleach in the toilet and disinfect it. I don't really want it in my bath tub.
Reply:I throw it in the garbage can and dump pine-sol in there let them soak for 5 min and slosh it all around. then I take the hose to them both. You can do this in the bathtub too,but then you have to wash out the tub again lol
