check with department stores, grocery stores, or you might just clean houses. Most of these stores are always looking for part-time workers.
Reply:I've met relatively few that are 21 and eager to work so good for you!!! Some job agencies or career centers provide a test you can take for free. Your answers will determine what field of employment you will be best at. Good Luck to you!!!
Reply:The key is a very good resume. You need to find out what kind of job you want and what it is they are looking for. Then try to get some help with building a professional resume and cover letter. I also realized a little lie wouldn't hurt. Once you have done that, be prepared for the interview. Employers want an ideal candidate, but nobody's perfect. You just pretend you are (of course to a limit). Remeber, you're trying to sell yourself. Finally, don't give up. You will see the ups and downs of job searching, but that's just knowledge you will gain and you will realize what is expected of you. You can also try career websites like workoplis.ca, monster.ca, and careerbuilder.ca. It's a good start. Best of luck.
Reply:some times going to a temp agency can help get you in doors, that would normally be tough to get into. I also know that most local govt offices provide the best benefits in the long run, so you could check ... our library posts local govt jobs as well as the town hall (jobs within your county or town govt). I'm assuming you have a h.s. diploma and maybe some college if no degree.
Reply:I will always suggest more education. The more education you have, the better income you can make. Not all continued education has to involve a 2 or 4 years degree (although that would be a great idea). There are also many 6-12 month programs out there for so many jobs. Look at local community colleges or any educational programs in your area. For example, you can earn a practical nursing diploma and become a licensed practical nurse in a little over a year. There seem to be a lot of jobs available in nursing right now. LPN's can make up to (and sometimes more, depending on your location) $20/hour. If the education route is not possible right now, and provided that you have no criminal record...visit a local hospital or nursing home in your area and talk with an administrator there or their human resources department and tell them that you would like to work as a nurses aide but that you need the training. Most facilities have training programs that won't cost you anything or they can direct you to where you can get the training. Most nursing homes will want to hold on to you if you are available to work any hours. I'm suggesting nursing because jobs are generally plentiful. If this type of work doesn't interest you, look into call centers. This type of job is usually only available in somewhat larger cites but they generally train you (paid training for about 6-8 weeks) to take calls from people who are having problems with their computers and other computer related issues. They always seem to be hiring and the pay is usually decent. Minacs is a company that operates call centers and has good training and pays well...check to see if they have any jobs in your area. One more suggestion I have is to visit a government job center in your area or an employment office (not the type where you pay someone). There are generally job listings there and also workers who will assist you in finding a job that you're qualified for. They can also assist you in preparing a resume. Not sure if I was at all helpful but good luck in whatever you do.
Reply:Go to a temp agency that primarily handles filling in office workers. They'll actually test your computer and typing skills to see if you can actually do what you say.

Then just take the temp jobs you are offered. If you are any good, you'll probably get hired for permanent work soon enough.
