What would you do if your job was, say, a customer service rep, and your boss told you to clean the trash can?

If you told him that you didn't want to clean the trash cans, and your boss said "don't let pride get in the way", would he have a good point?
What would you do if your job was, say, a customer service rep, and your boss told you to clean the trash can?
This is why job descriptions say "work duties may change without notice". Maybe your company don't have a cleaning crew, maybe you have to take care of your own area. Maybe it is just a one time thing, where everyone has to pitch in and help.

In Miami where I work, I would have a law suit if someone asked me to make coffee, where as somewhere else, it might be required of you.

Go ahead and take out the garbage. Don't get on the bad side of your boss. You never know when you will need him.

I once was asked to work on a photocopying project with another co-worker, it was something that had to be done in a hurry, the co-worker said photocopying was beneath her, and not part of her job description, I said yes. She was let go 2 weeks later and I worked for the company for 4 years until I left for another great job.

Unless your boss asks you do to something that isn't safe or illegal, go ahead and do it.
Reply:You should be lucky you have a job these days. As for cleaning the trash can. This is an act of team work. Someone has to do it. As a boss myself, these little things add up and are taken in consideration when there has to be a "chop block". As a customer service rep, you are obviously hired to address customer's issues and concerns. As an employee, teamwork is what it is all about.
Reply:I'd clean the trash can, most jobs have other duties incl and unless you have a trust find or have money in the bank, be prepared to do anything they ask you to do, I have dusted, vacuumed, cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms, a job is a job, and you often have to do things outside your own narrow job description.
Reply:As an employer I would go to the cleaning crew and request that they do their job correctly before I'd ask an employee to do their job for them. If there isn't a cleaning service, then I would expect everyone to take turns cleaning whatever needs to be cleaned, including myself. I would never ask anyone to do what I'm not willing to do.

But, that said, as one poster put it, we should all be glad we have jobs these days. That can change at anytime.
Reply:This is just part of life with a boss. It will stay in your mind for the next 20 years. Then you will open your own business and never have a boss again.

Clean the trash can..
Reply:Yes. Most jobs include unnamed tasks given by your supervisor in the job description. Meaning your job is what your boss tells you to do.
Reply:CSR jobs consist of doing whatever your boss needs and whatever the customer needs. If you want a better job without cleaning trash then go to college and get a four year degree.
Reply:If you check your job description, it will probably read something like 'and any other duties assigned by management'.
Reply:If its not in the job description you can tell him no and go to Human Resources and complain.
Reply:YES. If you look at your job description, you will see 'Other duties as assigned'. There are plenty of unemployed people who would do it...

Manager of rooming house - his job to clean common areas or mine as a tenant????

i used to run a boarding house and it was my job to keep the common areas clean.this man is the laziest manager i've ever met
Manager of rooming house - his job to clean common areas or mine as a tenant????
Who cleans the common areas should be specified in the rental agreement. Also it needs to define what are common areas. For example is the stair landing on your floor a common area or your private area?

Once you determine who is responsible for cleaning common areas, if it is the manager and he is not doing it, you can remind him nicely, and if that does not work notify the owner. If several tenants do so , the owner will take action.
Reply:read your lease, hopefully you have one.

I would like to clean offices as a part time job but need some info concerning how much to charge.?

Any advice or info would be appreciated.
I would like to clean offices as a part time job but need some info concerning how much to charge.?
call other business in your area and ask how much do they charge and go from there GOOD LUCK
Reply:it depends on the duties involved. are you emptying wastebaskets and vacumning the floors? $10 per office. Are you washing windows too? add $10 per office. You don't charge by the hour, you charge by the space. Are there 50 cubicles? what is on the floor, carpet or tile? Are you mopping, buffing floors? mopping and buffing you compute by the space, $10 foot by 20 foot = $30 . It also depends on where you are. what city. what region of the country. you charge more in New York City than Canton Ohio. Lot of variables in these equations.
Reply:around 5 dollars a sqaure foot

How long does it take to get pot out of your system..not a big user..need to get clean for job interview?

It depends on a few factors. If you carry a large percent of body fat, it may take longer as THC stores in your fat cells instead of simply in the blood. If you eat a low fiber, high-fat diet it will also slow the detox process. If you are a heavy user and have been for some time it can take up to 3 months. Honestly. the teas and detox drinks are not 100% fool proof (trust me, on this.) :( So if you're really worried you can use a synthetic alternate. There is one called QUick Fix that I have used in the past and it definitely works. Just make sure to buy 2 since 1 tends to not be not enough of a specimen. Good Luck
How long does it take to get pot out of your system..not a big user..need to get clean for job interview?
About thirty days start to finish. Depending on how long before the test you can drink vinegar and there are also natural herbal supplements available at health food stores. Pee a alot.
Reply:I've heard you can buy stuff at a head shop that will clean out pot. And you have to drink a lot of water or cranberry juice with it. But it has worked for some people I know. The more in advance you take it of the test the better.

I need to clean years of grime from my paving stones, what would be the best tool for the job?

I'm thinking steam cleaner or jet washer but is there a better way?
I need to clean years of grime from my paving stones, what would be the best tool for the job?
depends on size and how much elbow grease you can put in... small cheap jet washer is good idea, but also cheap value bleach (very thin liquid type not gel) put into a sprayer and then spray a fine mist (be careful of eyes, skin %26amp; clothing etc) and then leave for 5 - 10 mins and then scrub with hard bristle broom - works wonders.
Reply:pressure washer, fantastic tool . i picked one up in Morrison's supermarket for 拢25.00. it blasts the grime of my slabs,it cleans my decking.and i alter the nozzle for a more gentler spray to wash the car. best 拢25.00 Ive ever spent?
Reply:use a mixture of 50/50 water and bleach. scrub and rinse off, this also works on decks and outside walls where the rain splashes on the house.
Reply:power washer would be best or try CLR
Reply:pressure washer! they are amazing! and they are pretty cheap to! happy washing!
Reply:Pressure Washer !!
Reply:I did mine the other week and used a jet washer. The patio is looking like it is brand new now. Just be careful when doing it as you may dislodge the concerete that is holding the slabs down.
Reply:Hire a steam cleaner, we cleaned off my mums drive in a few minutes with one we got from a local hire shop.
Reply:waterblaster
Reply:Jet washer is the best way - you can buy this special fluid for cleaning the stones but to be honest it is a waster of money - 4 weeks later and the grime starts to build up again. Buy a small jet washer for around 拢40 and you'll save in the long run

What is the best job for a mother who only has experience as a counter person in Dry cleaner store?

I have friends who make a LOT of money selling stuff on ebay. They shop garage sales, empty the clutter from their houses, and resell it on ebay.

Your only investment should be in a digital camera to take pictures of the items you're selling, and a printer to print out Priority Mail labels.

Take some time to learn how ebay sellers write their item promotional paragraphs. Set limits for your shipping areas (like continental US only if you don't want to ship overseas).

Get a PayPal account so you can take PayPal as a seller. The money you earn transfers into whatever bank account you want, when you want to, or you can reuse it lots of places on the Internet which take PayPal.

The best part of this kind of job is your freedom. You're home with your family, your time is your own, and you can make money clearing clutter and selling things you no longer need or want. Better than Avon, MaryKay, Amway, or any other home show type business.

Talk to your CPA about how to manage the tax end of it; you should declare your earnings.

The downside is there are no benefits like health insurance, but you may have a spouse with adequate benefits. You could potentially earn enough selling on ebay to either self-insure or buy into your spouse's policy.

i dont know buddy try getting a job for the goverment(not fbi(the schools))

Hotels always need people to clean and do laundry.. Your ? is kinda broad.

good luck!

How do I clean my minor record so I can get a job?

My freind has a record 4 shoplifting LOL! (weasel) from 2 years ago he now needs this clean so he can get a job. whats steps must he take ?

he was 16 at the time now he is 18 and it is still haunting him. he was never sentenced it was just placed on his record

he only did it once!
How do I clean my minor record so I can get a job?
Go and ask for his record to be officially expunged... His Juvenal record SHOULD have been automatically sealed...

If he is being haunted by this... He needs to take the appropriate steps to have it OFFICIALLY expunged...
Reply:it's really tough to get a court record removed totally, my thought is to be open about the incident and reveal the fact that he was a little younger and now he is a little smarter.

I want to clean up rental homes and new construction homes. How much would you charge and how hourly or by job?

I am wanting to make my small business.
I want to clean up rental homes and new construction homes. How much would you charge and how hourly or by job?
Charge by the size of the house. Room count, bath count, number of floors.

Always inspect a rental house before quoting since you won't know what you might face after a messy tenant trashes the place.

Most cleaning contractors include washing windows and doing lots of other jobs not typical of a weekly cleaning, so my suggestion would be to start every job with a base price of $350 for a full clean-up of a standard 8 room, 2.5 bath house. Anything such as hauling trash and construction debris should be extra.
Reply:I'm a landlord and if I were to hire you, I would want to pay a firm fixed bid price. More important, would be how fast you could get the unit move in ready , because if I have to keep the unit vacant for a month anyway, I'll do it myself, that is unless the tenant's security deposit is paying for it. Since normal cleaning is a landlord's responsibility if a unit needs a great deal of cleaning there is usually more than enough documented property damage to eat up the security deposit.

Has anyone ever used Avon's Skin-So-Soft to clean their bathtub? If so, did it do the job?

I don't know anyone who uses Skin So Soft for it's original purpose. One girl at work uses it to kill ants on her kitchen sink. Someone else uses it to keep mosquitoes away. And today I heard it makes a great solvent for soap scum....so it's great to clean tubs and sinks with.

Anyone with experience here?
Has anyone ever used Avon's Skin-So-Soft to clean their bathtub? If so, did it do the job?
I do not think so - On my bathtub it left kind of an oily residue and I had to use a soft scrub to remove it.
Reply:It's so oily and slippery I can't see it being a good bathtub cleaner.. you'd have to really make sure it was all rinsed away that's for sure! You'd slip easily with that stuff in the tub. I guess if you are curious, give it a shot. Maybe start with your sink before you do the tub though.
Reply:It didn't really work on out tub. If you need something for bug bites, get some Ocean Potion Instant Burn Relief Ice. It does wonders for bug bites and rashes. The itch will just go away, its wonderful.
Reply:Never used it to clean my bathtub, but I did use it for mosquito repellent
Reply:i would think it would not work.....good for bugs and such...

Is it a womans job to do all of the cleaning even if she has a job???

My mother in law thinks it is my job to do all of the cleaning even though I have a job and all she does is play on the damn computer
Is it a womans job to do all of the cleaning even if she has a job???
You live with your mother in law? Nice.
Reply:If the house belongs to your mother-in-law, it's time to move. If the house is yours kick her to the curve. Your husband should be helping around the house also.
Reply:HELL NO! marriage is team work. if you were a stay at home wife, you should do the majority of the cleaning, still not all of it. but since you work, hell no.
Reply:If it is your house then it is your rules. tell her in her own house she is welcome to do and say anything that she wants and believes, But in your home it is you that makes the decisions as far as house work is done and if that means delegating it to others, because you are working and bringing in money then delegate with out guilt, you are right and she is not
Reply:No! Everything should always be split up, kinda like chores when you were younger. Yes, you should have to clean a little bit because you live there also, but everyone needs to chip in and help! Tell her to get her fat *** up off the computer and help!
Reply:Wrong!!!! When you work outside of the home, especially, the housework is a joint effort between ALL occupants!!!
Reply:NO! Leave those old stereotypes behind! Please don't worry about what your mother in law thinks- It's more important that you %26amp; your partner agree on what works best for your household.

Divide and Conquer is the rule at our house! With both people working, it' s the only way to go... but a word of advice -clearly define each persons roles - otherwise it can get messy- trust me.

My husband is in charge of all of the household wash ( mostly because he likes things folded a certain way), taking out the trash and taking care of our pet cat (since he brought the stray home from work one afternoon). He also helps with food shopping on occasion too.

Talk about what each of you likes and dislikes about housework and divide accordingly. It will certainly help if you work together on this one.
Reply:Ahhhh? am I missing part of this? What does the Mother-In-Law have to do with this? If your both working outside the home then by all means both work to make a home run smoothly. It should be a 50/50 proposition on the cooking, cleaning, laundry and kids. He works 5 mins from the house an 8 to 6 with lunch time coming home. I work on the road, some days 15 hours, I make my own work schedule. We share in everything. On weekends we do the shopping and the heavy cleaning, thru the week we do laundry and dishes and general pick up as well as cooking. Over the last 4 years we have gotten it down better and better as to who does what, but on the whole we share it all.
Reply:Tell her to clean it if she's so concerned. If she doesn't pay any of your bills she has nothing to say if you don't clean for a year. Now if she doesn't like that then tell her to keep her f...ing mouth closed.
Reply:No you shouldn't and what else is she doing that she can't help. What is your husband doing besides work that he can't help? tell your husband to tell her to keep opinions on how you run your household to herself. I can't stand meddling mom-in-laws. Some of them really need a hobby besides meddling.
Reply:Nope. If your working the house work should be 50/50.
Reply:It depends how you set up your agreement.
Reply:Tell her that if she does not keep her mouth shut you will disconnect the Internet service.
Reply:OK where is the hubby in all this and why isn't he helping do any of the housework??
Reply:She must have bumped her head.
Reply:Well if you are living under her roof and she is paying the bills i would agree... she should help though but manly i would think you should...

move out if it bothers you..
Reply:It depends on the agreement between the husband and wife on how to divide responsibilities at home. My husband and I both work, we have a maid come in 2x/month, so we don't have to worry about cleaning too much. I do all of the day-to-day stuff like cooking, dishes and laundry - and he does the rest (electrical work, plumbing, home improvement projects, fixing things, maintaining electronics and computers, general financial management, paying bills, I could go on). I think, I've got a great deal here, I'll do dishes any day of the week instead of crawling in the attic pulling cable for the new lighting system.

Your MIL should butt out of your life, as should you out of hers (if she wants to play on the computer all day it's her business). Your husband is the one you should be making an agreement with re. your household chores; what your MIL thinks about it - doesn't really matter.
Reply:does your MIL live with you guys? WTF????

and no, you shouldnt do all the cleaning if you have a full time job but... do you help paying bills/rent etc? because if you dont, then you kinda have to do all the cleaning.
Reply:HELL NO LET HER CLEAN IF SHE LIVES WITH U AND IF HER SON LIVES WITH U LET HIM CLEAN **** IT'S A 50/50 THING IF NOT GO ON STRIKE. THAT ALWAYS WORKS 4 ME WHEN NO ONE WANTS 2 HELP ME CLEAN. JUST CLEAN UR STUFF AND 4 GET ABOUT EVERYBODY ELSE UNLESS U HAVE A LITTLE BABY. U DO THERE CLEANING 2.
Reply:number one that there no way in hell my wife's mother will be living with us...... and number 2 is that i clean my house even if my wife can do some but she does most work with kids and i clean the house and I do spend alot time with wife and kids .... so ummmm. again no way in hell mother in law living with me and kids.... too much plm and i can set her outside with tent, campfire, other stuff.
Reply:hell no he can help or be gone
Reply:I do most of the cleaning at our home, but my husband pays for everything so I don't mind.
Reply:What decade is she stuck in?!!! That is such a ridiculous statement. I would just ignore her comments and tell her to mind her own business. You will clean if and when you feel like it.
Reply:No, it is not. If both people work in a marriage then it is both of their responsibility. Now if the woman wants to take on that burden of cleaning the house, then that's fine or vice versa. But if the woman doesn't work and her husband brings home the paycheck then out of courtesy the woman should want to keep the house clean and have a hot meal for her husband.
Reply:No, it's not. Your mother in law sounds very lazy. And she qualifies as a woman, so put her to work.
Reply:Sounds like your mother in law is stuck in the ice ages. Back in the day, thats how it was, but times have changed, and woman have more responsability nowdays. your mother in law is just an old fassioned person, but it dosnt mean you have to be one too. Everyone should lend a helping hand in the home.
Reply:Tell her to get off her duff. Or kick her out..unless you are the ones living with her in which case i would say pick up after yourselves...dont pick up her stuff...
Reply:Do you live with her?

If not, i think your mother-in-law should mind her business.

Chores should be divided up and if you and your husband both work then you should both do your fair share.

I say this but i can't get my husband to do crap! But my mother-in-law stays out of it.
Reply:My wife and I both work. We split the housework based upon who is busy at the time.
Reply:What is your mother law doing liveing with you first of all. And if its a womans job then she can get up and do it.
Reply:No it is not the woman's job to do all the cleaning . I am a older woman with grown children and I hold a full time job , my husband is disabled , he does a lot of the cleaning , all the laundry, and I do most of the cooking if I feel like it and if I don't we have sandwiches or frozen dinners or go out to eat. My husband never complains about this and he says he feels like he should do more and would if he could.

Maids - do you usually clean peoples houses while they are home or out? Isn't it harder to doa good job while

they are actually at home?
Maids - do you usually clean peoples houses while they are home or out? Isn't it harder to doa good job while
I've been cleaning homes and businesses now for 2 years. Most of the time it is more difficult to clean when the owners are present. The only good thing about them being there is them being able to show what they want done. Most of the people try to stay out of the way and that is very helpful but some just go in and out when I am in an area. They get what I have just cleaned dirty again and expect me to clean it again. It is a waste of their money and my time. It is better for them to be gone because that allows me to clean in the most efficient way- start with what needs to be done first. I understand though that some people want to make sure you are doing what they want and how they want and making the customer happy is the most important thing so I would say it is really up to them.
Reply:I don't work as a housekeeper now- But I saw quite a lot when I did.

Some people are indeed a lot harder to work around. There was one sweet-natured lady I used to clean for- and I think she was lonely. She was an elderly darling, and always so appreciative of the work that was done for her- But it was hard to do anything while she was hugging me, and more than once I had to catch a closet door that started to fall down on her while I was doing her laundry.

Other people prefer to be there while the housekeeper is, and still others prefer to be out.
Reply:I use to clean houses about 5 years ago and I always preferred that they weren't home so I could turn the music on and just keep cleaning without interruption. When I think of it, if it were me having my house cleaned, then I would want to be here. Just b/c its hard to trust people in your home when you aren't there
Reply:I cleaned houses about 6 years ago. I never cleaned a house when someone was home, they usually wanted me to come during the day when they were at work.
Reply:I've cleaned houses both while there and away. I prefer them to not be home, but what can you do? I always feel like they go behind me after I leave a room.
Reply:both some when they are out some at home and some in and out...

its nicer when ther are not there (u can watch TV ect)

when they there u have to look busy...

depends how nice the owner!!!

Do you believe it is the women's job to cook Christmas dinner and clean it up afterwards?

I think so because women love the bonding time cleaning up together and also cooking meals that everyone enjoys.
Do you believe it is the women's job to cook Christmas dinner and clean it up afterwards?
I've never thought that way. I have prepared holiday dinners over the years and it hasn't bothered me. It all depends on the household.
Reply:My husband is an awesome cook, and the food I make kills people. I mean, he's Maori, and he puts ketchup on everything (he calls it 'tomato sauce') but everything he makes is unbelievably good.

Reply:Sure, why not. I'll cook the dinner and clean it up, you just aren't going to get to eat it. I mean, how can you when your face is pressed against the window because your chauvinist *** was thrown out. Glad my husband isn't an ignorant **** like you.
Reply:not necessarily, but all the women I've been around seem to like to do the cooking and cleaning up afterward. We still have some men who chip in too, they usually do the heavy work.
Reply:In my family, the men are cooks, with both my uncle and my father having been professional cooks in different capacities. So we make sure the women stay in the living room and out of the kitchen. :)
Reply:you are way out of line if you believe that...it's fine if the woman wants to do it, but it shouldn't be "her job". If your a real man you would help out with the cooking and cleaning
Reply:Yes is woman's work. Also woman must make baby and clean house.

Woman is to be silent also.
Reply:I think that whoever wants to cook should cook, whether it's a man or a woman. Everyone should do their part in cleaning up.

How do I clean white cement off tile? A workman did a messy job with the grout.?

It's pretty easy. Go down to your nearest Home Depot and go to their flooring department. There you should find a acid called sulfamic acid, it will be in a small container(yellow and orange), get you only one, that's as much as you need. While you are there pick you up some or a grouting sponge and a hard brisel brush and maybe a 5 gallon bucket if you do not have one already. Now go home and read the directions on how to mix your acid to water ratio. Once you have that much figured out, mix your acid and water. Remember the A%26amp;W rule, always mix acid into water. Once they are mixed, sponge the acid/water mix onto the areas where you have the white cement. Get a whole lot on the tiles to where the acid/water mix is sitting on top. Now, let the acid/water sit on the tiles for about 4 to 5 minites. Once that time has gone by, get your hard brisled brush and start scrubbing the cement off, this should be knocking off any cement the acid/water didn't get off by itself. Once you are done scrubbing, wipe off all your acid/water and then with a clean bucket of water sponge the whole area taking off all the acid and cement deposits left behind. This should work great for you. Good luck.
How do I clean white cement off tile? A workman did a messy job with the grout.?
Honestly if it was me, i would be calling the workman and telling him to get his butt down there to clean it. you didnt pay him to make a mess. thats what I do all the time. I don't pay till they clean their mess and did their job right.
Reply:why should you have to clean it? if you had an agreement on the price for everting including clean up, its up to him.
Reply:Call the jerk back, and tell him he isnt done yet.
Reply:Dynamite is quite effective. If the blast reaches the tile worker, the better.

Is it wrong to use synthetic or clean Urine to pass a jobs drug test?

I have a prescription for medical marijuana and as an American I have a right to privacy concerning my medical conditions. I have had many drug tests for jobs, and have always passed them, but never stopped using my medicine. Is it wrong for me to hide my medical condition and treatment from my employer?
Is it wrong to use synthetic or clean Urine to pass a jobs drug test?
Your own medical history is in no way an employer's business.

If you refuse to take the test, they will likely refuse to let you work there. If you explain your situation, they may understand...or they may not. You're at their mercy, especially if you are in a State like Florida, where employers can fire you and not provide a reason for it.

Your medical history is something you should keep private between your doctors, your family, and yourself.

On that note, I would suggest using the clean or synthetic urine, if you live in a "right to work" state, like Florida.
Reply:It depends on your duties at work. I am an employer and I sometimes smoke pot. But I would not like the thought of one of my boys being "stoned" while installing a furnace in a customers home which could explode or burn the house down. YOU have to be responsible. Your employer could wind up being sued out of business while you continue on your merry little way to screw up someone else's life. Show some backbone and leave the dope at home on work days.
Reply:If you had Lyme disease and were taking Oxycontin or Ultracet for the pain, you'd not disclose that information...what makes medicinal marijuana any different?

Don't use synthetic urine -- that's taking it a little too far.

Get a detox drink and use that instead.
Reply:That one I really am not sure of but if you test positive for Marijuana you can be fired. And there is nothing you can do about it because you failed to inform them of your condition that requires you to smoke Marry Jane.
Reply:yes, it is wrong.

If your health issues can potentially hinder your ability to do your job - then it IS the right of them employer to know. Your employer has the right to maintain a safe working environment - and drug screening is part of that.
Reply:not at all your medical stuff is your business and yours only to tell plus it is illegal for you to be fired or denied employment for this and really it's not that bad i would love to tell my boss i smoke weed but you see i would get fired so enjoy you lucky bastard
Reply:Of course it is wrong. It is cheating. If YOU have to take a drug test, legally you have to give YOUR specimen for the test.

If you have a prescription, then it shouldn't be an issue. Prescription medication is permitted.
Reply:I'd tell them if you are using "medicine" because if you were to fail a drug test, then you'll have questions to answer and face a possible firing if they have a strict drug policy. And yes it is wrong to cheat on a drug test.
Reply:It depends on what the company's policy is and what the marijuana's for.

Personally, I would tell them sooner rather than later.
Reply:only if you get caught sounds like your a pot head if you are perscribed it they can not hold it against you
Reply:well duh its wrong but maybe you should tell them they would understand
Reply:Of course it is...In the long run the truth always comes out...look at AIG and Bernie Madoff...

If you are up front with your boss he/she will have respect for youin the long run...if you lie and they find out...you will be percieved as dishonest...as well you would be.

Joyce Meyer is a minister and years ago her boss asked her to do something that was dishonest...she told him she couldnt do that...even if it meant she would lose her job...the next day her boss told her to do it the right way...becuse of her honesty her boss came to trust her and she eventually became the head of her department...her boss said because of how honest she was it meant to him that he could trust her...

Honesty is always the best policy

Is it your time of the month

AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH
Reply:I hate it when he comes home and I've been slaving away (mainly on Answers) but done tidying up etc and he says - 'what have you been doing all day?'

Or I'm sitting watching TV and he comes in, picks up remote and changes channel!!

Typical man!
Reply:he doesn't do that. he just ignores it and walks around in his boots anyway
Reply:no
Reply:he gives me a surprised look and says: "wow, it's about time" and then starts looking at every single detail in the house so that he can point out if i missed anything. *rolling eyes*

Im just not the cleaning type of person, but when i DO do it, i do a god damn good job of it! I just wanna get it all done at once.
Reply:lol thats soo funny my partner doesnt dare wind me up (i say im hormonal 26 days a month lol)
Reply:I clean all day and my husband doesn't even notice. I hate that. I bust my a** and he comes home and throws his stuff all over and plops down on the couch and I get no recognition. Or even worse, when something needs to be cleaned, he tells me or calls me over to point it out instead of taking care of it himself.
Reply:Im lucky my hubby helps with everything around the house. That includes Ironing.
Reply:even though i don't have a husband (i have a wife), i'll answer the 2nd part to your question...

it kinda winds me up when i come home after working 10 hours a day, there is no "thank you for going to work to pay the bills", but instead holding a baby to me, saying "it's your turn" until our baby goes to bed, and then criticizing me on how i'm taking care of our baby incorrectly. but when i ask questions on how to do it the correct way, i'm told that i'm questioning and undermining my wife. who has chosen to stay home, btw.

it's a little frustrating. but what do i know, i'm just a stupid man. i'll "never be able to give birth", so that automatically makes me a 2nd class citizen. i should always apologize for what's between my legs.
Reply:Not notice that I've cleaned.... ugh....

;o)
Reply:dont get me started!!!!
Reply:One time I cleaned the house top to bottom and cooked my husband his favorite meal (shrimp scampi and steak with baked potatoes and asparagus). He came in, looked around, looked at the table and put his hand on his forehead like he was checking my temperature..

Silly man.
Reply:I cleaned the house to perfection and he didn't have a reason to complain about the house as usual so he decided to yell about the yard and the van
Reply:my hubby waits for me to clean the bathroom then he goes into it floods it leaves wet towels all over the floor, still love him to peices though ( sad)
Reply:I spend all day making a meal, a special meal for him, something he likes and he either doesn't want to to eat because he isn't hungry, he will eat after he sleeps, something isn't done to his satisfaction, or he will eat but when I ask him if he likes it he say "it's ok".

He will ignore me for days on end and only talks to me when he wants to *****. He threatens divorce but when I mentioned it to him last Xmas he was dumbfounded.

He takes the used towels in the bathroom and dries them and puts them back in the closet.

He comes home from work filthy and doesn't shower and then goes to bed on the nice clean sheets I just washed.

He won't go to the dentist and refuses to go to the doctor when he is sick and then complains because he is sick.

Comes home from work whenever he has a mind to and expects me to have his supper on the table and ready to eat at a moments notice.

I bet you are sorry you asked this question!
Reply:I don't have a husband. BUT WAAAAAAAAHAHA THAT DOES WIND ME UP!
Reply:After I spend ages getting ready for a night out, best clothes, hair and makeup done, my boyfriend ALWAYS says "you not getting ready to go out then?"
Reply:My boyfriend moves everything, i always do the majority of cleaning but he moves everything . I put things in places where i can find them but he always moves things and forgets where hes put them!! Also he farts in bed and wafts the covers!!
Reply:i havent got a husband i have a wife and i wish she would clean the house
Reply:he dosent realise i clean at all ...he think things get clean by the cleaning fairy ( in he's word )... as stupid as it sound i wonder if he actually believe in it sometimes ???? when something is dirty he just tell me and thinks i will tell it to the cleaning fairy !!!!
Reply:Uh....
Reply:I cleaned my front wondows today and come in and he went '' you made it look worse'' I was not happy xx
Reply:He never says anything till I say "Look at the house." He does not act very surprised and says "Uh huh."

Can a Construction company doing a union job for the state hire out workers that are non union to clean?

A construction company working for the state school systems hired out a cleaning business that was not union and they did not pay prevailing wage. Would this be something the unions would like to hear about? Is this legal? What if they were paying the people off of the books too? Would the state like to know about this?
Can a Construction company doing a union job for the state hire out workers that are non union to clean?
They don't have to be union. Generally, they do have to pay prevailing wage IF a prevailing wage has been established for that particular trade and location. Depends on the specifics of the contract.
Reply:This exactly why all Unions should be busted. They don't care about their members, they are just greedy.
Reply:That a good idea and will save the state money it needs in this economy

I contacted a well known cleaning service to ask about job opening positions available now.?

I was told by the manager(?) or owner (?) that there was one position that needed to be filled by the last week of February He told me to call today and let someone know I'd be coming so there would be someone there. I called the office and arranged to come by on Monday morning to complete the job application, and hopefully be granted an interview.

To make a short story tediously loooonnnnggg I'll cut to the chase. I own a cleaning service that opened in September and I still haven't received a call or email from any potential customers. So I thought this job with the chain janitorial/house and commercial cleaning would give me experience, as well as learning how the business managed to remain so successful over the years. But my dilemma is whether to inform them that I'm just starting in the industry and have my own cleaning company. I'm afraid that they won't hire me because they might assume that I wouldn't stay very long, or suspect that I'm planning to compete against against them tin order to lure their estibled clientele away from them. I'm doing neither of these things because it would be highly unethical.

I would gratefully appreciate your wisest advice.

Thank you,

---CC

CC,

As long as your intentions are only employment and you do not crossover into self promotion, there is really no reason to disclose your business. If they ask you about it, tell them the truth. It was/is something you attempted on your own but decided to seek employment instead. Otherwise, the don't ask, don't tell policy would probably be the best. One thing you might want to be wary of is if they have you sign an application or anything make sure there isn't a "no compete" clause tucked away in the verbiage. Some companies try to corner the market on competition with these.

The best bet for you is to be 100% honest and give 110% of your effort to them while working there.

I hope this helps.

Reply:I agree with Brett as far as the issue you are asking about. But just in case you don't get the job, or are still looking at establishing your own cleaning business, I have a few suggestions.

By your information, you are being too passive in attempting to acquire customers. Emails won't work and waiting for them to call you won't work. You need to get in front of the decision maker! Start with an introductory letter or phone call or drop by to introduce yourself and find out who is in charge. Then make an appointment to do an estimate or bid. Remember, every business that you do business with-insurance agents, lawyers, accountants, doctors-can be a potential customer. At least you will find out who they use, how much they pay and what they expect.

Search out new office complexes and find the leasing agent or property manager to find out who's in charge of cleaning services.

Oh, I have some many more resources and tips below....

You CAN do this!

If I have bad credit but a clean criminal background, could I still get a job?

Nationwide said they had a position available for me but wanted to do a consumer credit check, and asked it they could proceed with the hiring process.

You can get employment anywhere actually. They started this ordeal call Hardship employment, but since you're 15 you can only do so many hours. I was 15 working at Bed Bath %26amp; Beyond and I'm pretty sure you can do so as well. If you need help on your resume email me. I'm an English major so it won't hurt to help you. Try looking for small businesses like a copy center or retail would be perfect for you. The mall hires students all the time. Try new places like Hollister (clothing company) it was really fun working there, Ambercrombie, or even the closest library will hire you. It's all about changing your sense of direction and pursuing ambition. Let me know how everything works out! Hugs-N-Luvs Choa

Do you believe it is the job of the women to cook Thanksgiving dinner and clean the dishes afterwards?

That is how it is in my family. The women bring dishes and then get together and clean up in the kitchen. I think they like it that way because they get to cook a dish and have people compliment them and then they get to have ladies bonding time cleaning the dishes.
Do you believe it is the job of the women to cook Thanksgiving dinner and clean the dishes afterwards?
No, It's a family holiday!! Cooking, cleaning, eating should be shared by all!!!
Reply:My Dad always cooked any big dinner in my house as I grew up, or even after I married and came back for a visit. I'd help with salads, peeling potatoes, setting the table. My sister mashed the potatoes, and kept her little children occupied.

My sister and I always did the dishes.

Now we all pitch in, wives, husbands, grown kids.

It is a big family ordeal. I think it just depends on a particular family.
Reply:ha. that's how it is in my family as well. which makes thanksgiving kind of awkward. we all used to go to this big house and my whole extended family would be there and the dads and their sons would watch football and the moms would cook in the kitchen and the daughters would help. well, nobody is dragging me away from a football game to help them push stuffing up a turkey's butt, thank you very much. so for a long time, it would be the women trying to get me to help and the men telling me how i didn't know anything about football. i always hated thanksgiving. but i think the rest of my family liked it. the men liked their chance to be all "manly" and grunt about football, and i think the women truly did enjoy the chance to talk without the men being around. but i hated the whole thing. after years of whining, my family now goes to hawaii for thanksgiving and lets the rest of my extended family have their stupid gender-seperated holiday.

I need a job weekly pay i will do cleaning or anything please help. anyone no anywhere cheers asap answers?

I know how it feels to be out of work or low on money here you go this is what I did when I was out of work:

Have you tried your local job centre? they would usually have cleaning jobs advertised in there or other sorts of jobs that may pay weekly!

Have you searched on the internet on the job agencies websites they usually have listings of jobs in your area ! or popped into any agencies on the high street! when I was out of work I walked everywhere to agency to agency to ask if they had anything for me it used to annoy them that I was in so often but its what you have to do.

Does your local area have a job pages (or newspaper)

Another thing I used to do was get the local phone book and phone all of the local businesses in my local area to ask them if they had anything available and ask to be kept on their records if they havent so that they can keep you in mind for any future vacancies!

Hope some of my tips will be able to help you and good luck in finding a job that is right for you. I dont know where you live but I have done a little search for you I dont know whether it is worth you trying some of the websites below!

Don't pay attention to people offering you work at home jobs on here. They're more than likely after YOUR cash. I work from home, but from a legit source. Never, ever pay a dime to anyone for information about a job.

If you are in the US, try

You may be able to locate a work from home job there, even if you are outside of the US.

Reply:Here's a short list of jobs which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Become a "poser" who assists wedding photographers in setting and arranging various individuals in group and single photographic positions. "Posers" carry around a sketch book of various sitting and standing poses which consists of onion skin overlays of various wedding pictures bound in albums. Again, contact local wedding photographers and wedding planners, accordingly. The hourly pay is around $10-$12 per hour and you are often invited to attend all dining activities.

3. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

4. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

5. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

6. Become a proxy/stand-in for neighbors to allow delivery of goods and packages to your home/apartment. Acquire the authority to sign any receipt of incoming packages as an accepting neighbor. Charge $1 per each package handled by you.

7. Consider becoming a restaurant-cafe customer liaison by using your cell phone at restaurants-cafes to coordinate with the hostess to keep track of waiting customers. Whenever there's a very long period of time to activate a waiting list, you want to offer the restaurant your services so that customers do not have to stand around for any lengthy period of time. And when their name/assigned number comes up; you can call the upcoming customer's cell phone to tell them that they can return to the restaurant and be served. The call back fee is usually around $0.50 cents on a per head basis. For example, a couple would be charged $1.00 while children under 6 would not be charged. Placement of a plaque which outlines your fee schedule near the hostess station is sufficient to garner attention of prospective customers who will value your services since they can do other activities outside of the restaurant -- often beyond the range of any inhouse paging system. You realize that everyone has a cellphone and why not take advantage of the connectivity to make the diner's experience worthwhile. The restaurant will also appreciate the added service you are providing as a customer liaison.

8. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at nearby nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are unable to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The only downside is that one has to take precautions to wash one's hands after each feeding. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.

Good luck!

Are you taking them for pain that you're having or do you have an addiction?

If it's doctor documented that you have pain and need them to control the pain you can show them that if the percocets show up in your system.

After smoking pot every day for years I have a drug test for a vey high paying job in 25 days. Will I be clean

For some years now I have been smoking lots of pot every day. In about 25 days I have a drug test I must take for a very high paying job so needless to say I don't want to fail the test. What can I do besides taking drug kit system flushers to speed up the process of getting my system clean? Perhaps intensive workouts that cause a good amount of sweating will help and lots of water? But what else?
After smoking pot every day for years I have a drug test for a vey high paying job in 25 days. Will I be clean
You might and you might not. The rule of thumb is usually 30 days to get out of your urine, and 90 days to get it out of your hair. If they are taking a hair test, I'm sorry, but you are f'ed in the A. There is no way to get it out of your hair, it has to grow out. If you shave your head, they will take the hair out of your butt crack if they have to.

Now, THC is stored in fat cells, so if it's a urine test, you need to exercise alot. Drinking alot of water will not get it out of your system any faster, and if your urine is too diluted, they will fail you. You do need to drink water, but in healthy amounts.

Hope this is help.
Reply:Ive seen a little device that fits in your pants that can have urine stored in it,thats probably the most secure way(bringing someone elses piss)
Reply:Drink a jar of pickle Juice. I know for a fact this works. You said you don't want to do a drug get but GNC has a few things that work, They are behind the counter.

Pickle Juice does work. Sorry I cant give you the tech reason behind it.
Reply:ditto, to all the other answers. lots of water, lots of sweat and very short haircut just before test.
Reply:Well, I give out drug test almost every day. I haven't heard of pickle juice doing the job for you. I know if it's a hair test like I give for pre-employment, you might want to go buy what they call detox shampoo and sometimes this doesn't work. I have had them to fell it still. This is what I say is "Good Luck and if you get the job I hope you change and take it for real and stop smoking that junk." In regards. (Pedro)
Reply:25 days may be enough for you to be clean but it depends on your body type and metabolism. Working out could backfire on you. The exercise causes you to release fat faster than resting levels to use as fuel but it also releases some THC and/or its metabolites in the process. You could drink lots of water before your drug test to dilute THC and its metabolites to undetectable levels, however, if the urine is too clear the drug-test center may ask you to take the test again. This problem can be overcome by taking a multivitamin such as One-A-Day for men which colors your urine a bright yellow. Good luck.

How often do you clean house (or room) and how good a job do you do?

Please be honest :)
How often do you clean house (or room) and how good a job do you do?
Make my beds everyday, clean bathroom everyday, vacuum [hoover] everyday, clean the kitchen everyday, clean the lounge everyday, sweep the path outside everyday, i do everything every single bluddy day and sick of it.
Reply:I clean every day. Wiping off counters, washing son's bottles, putting towels in hamper, putting coat hangers back up, throw pillows back on the couch and in order, etc. If you clean as you go, pick up after yourself daily it makes things a lot easier. If you finish a can of soda, throw it away! Its not that hard.

I do heavy cleaning once or twice a week (bathroom, mirrors, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc). I do a great job. I like cleanliness. I can't live in filth and clutter.
Reply:I clean my kitchen and bathroom everyday including steam mopping floors. I pick up the den at night before going to bed, on Saturday the entire house gets a through cleaning from top to bottom as if I were doing Spring Cleaning, I wash clothes every other day, but depending on weather I may use washer everyday cause dogs' blankets and things have to be washed due to them tracking in mud or getting wet and smelling yucky.
Reply:I always put things away this way the place appears clean. normally on a Saturday morning I give it a good dusting and vacuum the floors, every two weeks I polish and clean the glass doors and some windows.

Since I put most everything away, anytime folks come over they always compliment me on how clean my house is.

Dont apply at a retail store, go for a factory job or a laborer. 4 times is a lot, god luck with that.

Or he would just have to wait until he legally becomes an adult by age for his minor record to be erased.

Is it wrong to not want to accept a job cause you feel cleaning toilets is degrading?

I've been looking for a summer job for 2 months now. I've been getting pretty desperate and time is running out. Recently I have been offered a retail job. In addition to the regular customer service, they also want me to sweep floors and clean toilets. Is it wrong to not accept this job offer cause you feel that cleaning toilets is degrading? Am I being too picky or am I right to have standards?
Is it wrong to not want to accept a job cause you feel cleaning toilets is degrading?
I clean toilets everyday, and I don't even get paid for it.
Reply:Well I used to be an office clerk and I did translations. then I moved to another country and I worked at a supermarket as the in store cleaner and I also was in charge of cleaning the customers toilets and the staff toilets.. then I worked at the university and was a night shift cleaner and I cleaned all the classrooms and auditorium, kitchens and all the male and female students toilets. and then I thought I go and study to become a health care worker and i did that and now I take care of mentally or physically disabled people but I did not find it degrading to clean toilets.. It was hard to adjust to working nights.. x but you can set your standards higher.. you don't have to do this.. the question is how urgently do you need money.. if you find a better job then by all means aim for something higher or go to evening school to get a certificate or a degree in something else and that will definitely be a bonus to find better work than .. cleaning toilets.
Reply:A job is a job. Have you ever seen Mike Rowe with Dirty Jobs? I would rather clean a toilet than do some of the jobs that Mike Rowe encounters.

I clean the toilet at my job and I work with fast food. I do not find it degrading because I would rather have a clean bathroom than a dirty bathroom. Sometimes we all have to do things we don't want to do!
Reply:I understand how you feel, but when push comes to shove, sometimes you just have to suck it up and do what you have to do until something better comes along.

Besides...it builds character. Seriously.

Just listen to your ipod and consider it mindless work where you don't have to take anyone's crap - you just have to clean it! (with gloves, of course!~lol)

And it's good practice for if you ever have kids.

You need the job. It's only temporary.
Reply:I once told myself that I would never work in food service, but eventually I did because we all have to pay the bills, and it wasn't that bad.

Cleaning toilets isn't as bad as you might think... my Daddy is a janitor and has been for over 20 years -- he makes his living (which is a lot, btw) cleaning toilets -- sure it's not glam, but it's a job and it's something to move up from.

Take the job, you might surprize yourself!

Cleaning the house as my job for the summer?

Alright so my parents are allowing me to clean our house during the summer as my job since I can't drive around to a job. The only thing we can't decide is how much I should get paid. We had a house cleaner before that 60-70 dollars and I'm thinking I should get close to that amount. I'm 16 years old and our house is a single story with over 3,000 sq feet. Any ideas how much I should get paid?
Cleaning the house as my job for the summer?
Hey now, if your parents paid a house cleaner and they are now offering it to you then by all means sure you should get paid a fair amount - I would say if you do everything she did then the same pay should apply - but if I were you, you would look better in your parents eyes if you say 50$ but do an even better job then she ever did - they will see that and up your pay without you asking or throw in a nice bonus. Plus this is great experience for you for when you get grown and have your own place. Remember to do the regular things each week but at least once a week do something big, like behind the fridge, or the inside of the oven, or the baseboards...tackling those big jobs one at a time really shows!
Reply:I believe the going rate is CT is about $15.00 an hour. That's with an initial deep cleaning of about 8 hours of straight work to start. After that it's maintaining and that's about 2 to 3 hours a visit twice a week. That's with home owner suppling all cleaning materials.
Reply:u shuld do that without asking money from ur parents..
Reply:Meghan is right about the professional having travel expenses. If in your parents' opinion, you do a job equal to the quality of the professional, you could probably ask for $50. If you're not doing the same amount or quality of work, that would reduce the price.
Reply:You shouldn't make what you used to pay someone else. They had time and travel expenses which you will not have. She was also a profesional, and you are not. I don't think that $45-50 is unreasonable, but it also depends on the amount of work you will be doing. What about getting some babysitting jobs or mowing neighbors lawns to make money as well?
Reply:Like 50 dollars a week? Or a day? Cause I wouldn't clean a 3000 square foot house for 50 dollars a week EVER. You could spend 50 dollars a week on cleaning products alone for a house that big. Makes no sense. But if we're talking daily rate, it should be somewhere between 100-175 a week. For a house that big that is.

How does one clean the duct work of a furnace heating system, in a home? Is it a do-it-yourself job?

After months (summertime) of not using the furnace, it obviously has built up dust and mold. Upon turning it back on in the wintertime, a very musty smell is emitted from all of the furnace vents, into the house. I'd hate to know what is actually being blown into our house. Allergies are a problem, shortly afterwards. Thanks
How does one clean the duct work of a furnace heating system, in a home? Is it a do-it-yourself job?
It requires a professional service, unless you have the equipment to clean it yourself. They are easily found online or through your yellow pages. It really is something you should have done every 5 years or so.
Reply:Mold should NEVER be growing anywhere in your HVAC system. You have something called "dirty sock syndrome." Funny name, but it is real. What happens is that bacteria/mold is growing on your evaporator coil during the summer when you are using the AC. The evap coil stays nice a damp and it is dark, that is a breeding ground. Then, when you turn on the heat and expose the coil to hot air, the mold and bacteria quickly multiply. The smell is often compared to dirty socks. Cleaning your ducts will not solve this problem - you have bacterial/mold growth on your evap coil. If you can find the evap coil, and are comfortable disconnecting the duct work, you can purchase evap coil cleaner from an HVAC supply house. Cost is $15/gallon - it is usually colored green and sold under various brand names. Be advised, that cleaning the coil is going to flush all kinds of nasty stuff into the drain pan of your coil and if you don't get it out of there, it will stop up your condensate line. So make sure you have plenty of towels and a wet-vac with a small attachment designed to get in to tight places. The cleaner should take care of MOST of your problem, but it is likely to return. Something in your house is causing the bacteria/mold growth - usually high humidity. If the smell comes back, call and HVAC company and ask that they install a UV light on your coil. UV light will destroy the DNA of bacteria/mold and prevent them from reproducing. The UV light will need to be installed right next to the coil for maximum effect...installing it down stream in the duct work somewhere is useless. A good HVAC contractor will probably charge $250-$300 for the light, plus $150-$200 labor. Duct-cleaning, if you are still interested or feel it is really required, normally runs $750-$1000 for an average size house.
Reply:if you can take it apart easily then you can vacuum it all out, my duct was straight so I bought some PVC and attached screw ends to it and used that, with my Vac

but there are professional cleaners that will come do it too
Reply:Been scouting around for a duct cleaning service %26amp; so far have found price range from $300 to $500 .

Recently did some remodeling %26amp; had to relocate a return duct for forced hot air %26amp; cooling system.

Definitely getting a pro to do complete cleaning %26amp; sanitizing.

Would not think it's a DIY since they use special tools %26amp; vacuum system.

Found some pros are not too fond of systems w/ flexible ducting.

Apparently harder to get clean %26amp; they are afraid of damage.

Should certain workers be expected to clean up their mess at the end of the job?

We had a stucco guy come and fix cracks around our house. He left a mess of old stucco pieces and lots of drips of the new stucco all around our house, on our porch and on furniture that was around the house. Shouldn't clean up be included in the deal?
Should certain workers be expected to clean up their mess at the end of the job?
That subject should be covered in your contract.

Some of the mess you mentioned can be expected and I would not expect them to clean up every little piece, but it the deck and furniture were not covered prior to the work being done, that you should address this issue with them.

Reply:By and large, as a matter of principle, yes.

However it sometimes depends on the contractor, wether he has been paid or not, or if it was work done by the owner/operator or an employee/subcontractor.

If you have an actual contract instead of a handshake deal read it; it probably says "broom clean" in there somewhere. If it does hold them to it.

Either way a call to the company will probably bring someone back out to clean up the mess.
Reply:When that happened to my father I called the company and said, I know you needed to be somewhere right after you got done at my fathers, please don't forget you didn't have time to clean it up and you need to come back and do that as soon as possible. This gets the message across and yet doesn't accuse the man of being a slob or jerk. The guy was there that afternoon and cleaned it up very nicely and apologized to my dad.
Reply:No, unfortunately that's not included in the job.. apart from getting rid of boxes that thy brought and are not needed and stuff that's on the floor and needs to be thrown out.. they should remove that but for cleaning up the little bits.. no, that's not part of their job.. sad but true.. they are skilled workers but not cleaners...''
Reply:Ideally yes. If he is a small private company and he is the owner. Talk to him. If it' a larger company talk to his superior... let him know about the mess. They may not clean it perfectly to your standards, but an attemp is definately appreciated.
Reply:Yes, it would be the professional thing to do by picking up after himself. He should of left it like he found it.
Reply:yes, he should clean it up, if not, don't pay him till he does!

Reply:I would say no.
Reply:Yes if it's in the contract.

For those of you running the Windows system, you might also want to consider the XP Medic program which offers several more advanced features than the Registry Patrol application, including the ability to completely optimize your entire XP/Vista operating system.

I want a job in madinah mosque (haram) for cleaning?

U could get a job in the City but I think its not possible to get a job for sweeping Medina coz people who go to Gulf countries must have a Valid Visa issued by the Govt. to the Sheikhs Stating that He is going to hire a person from XYZ Country for some employement, Now who will make a requirement and issue the Visa for u to come to medina for sweeping coz every visa and employement agreement have some payable for that who will provide u the Salary.

And the one Lucky person who is doing or engaged in that work will never want to loose such a job

I have an interview for administrator and on the job spec they expect me to clean the loos, is this normal?

It also says I have to clean all the crockery at the end of the day! is this really normal.
I have an interview for administrator and on the job spec they expect me to clean the loos, is this normal?
I work for a very small company, and whilst we obviously do have a cleaner, the receptionist is expected to take on a variety of cleaning chores.

As an example, we have clients coming in all during the day. The cleaner comes at the end of the day. If, for example, someone had had an "accident" in the loos during the day, then unfortunately the receptionist would be expected to deal with it rather than leaving it all day for clients to witness. (I'd hope that if it was a staff member that had done it, they'd clean up after themselves, but when there are visitors they won't clean up.)

Similarly, we do have a dishwasher and the cleaner is expected, at the end of the day, to load the dishwasher, turn it on and then empty it again. But in general, the receptionist ends up loading the dishwasher a couple of times throughout the day because everyone just leaves stuff lying around.

So, I'd explore this further. Are you really expected to clean the loos, or are you just expected to "maintain" them during the day?

Rule of thumb is, the smaller the company, the more you will be expected to muck in and help with things like this. If you don't want to do it, go and work for a bigger company where they will have designated cleaning staff. But I work for a small company and I really enjoy it, and I think there are a lot of good things about it.
Reply:Not normal but they can do it if they want. I feel your pain - I am currently an office administrator and I am expected to check that there is a constant supply of loo roll, hand towels, and handwash. We have a cleaner for crying out loud - why can't she do it??
Reply:I'd jog it on luv and find something else.. Toilet cleaning is for the well cleaners to do.
Reply:it gets rid of those who put pride before wealth and food.
Reply:They are probably just trying to get all the jobs done with everyone mucking in. If it is a problem for you. Do not go for it.
Reply:In all my years as an Administrator (and similiar roles) - 16 years and counting) - I have NEVER been asked or expected to clean the loos and other peoples crockery.

They are probably to tight financially to employ a cleaner who's duties include loo cleaning.
Reply:Whatever the job description is, is what you would have to do if hired. I guess they can put any chore on that list they want to, since they are the boss. However, I wouldn't expect for those things to be on that list. I would expect that to come under the heading of Janitorial.
Reply:No this is not normal....
Reply:Nope - an administrator deal with administration. A cleaner deals with cleaning toilets and crockery. Either don't bother going to the interview, or be prepared not to get the job when you tell them you are applying for a job as a paper pusher.
Reply:No it is not normal. And if those are the things they're up-front about, what are the the things they're going to spring on you when you're in post, because there's always something...!
Reply:Count yourself lucky that they mentioned it BEFORE you got the job. I admire their honesty.

Think of it this way - they dare not fire you cos who would clean the loo? Job security!

Someone has to clean the loo. I've done my fair share.
Reply:It is sexist. The 'Administrator' is likely to be a woman (Secretary), so make her do the cleaning as well!

Whatever this company is...they are sh*t.

Find something else.
Reply:No it isn't, it sounds like the job spec for an all-round dogsbody!
Reply:sorry, but HELL NO. if you qualify for that job, you prob have surpassed cleaning toliets. sorry i cleaned toliets in college WILL NOT do it again.
Reply:Cari has it right. But if your job is with a large company then things might be different.

Check if you will be sharing this task with others, perhaps on a rota basis.

I know of several office workers who look after the loos during the day as they have members of the public using them and they check on the paper etc. It is reasonable to ask the newer workers to take on this task, as most could not afford a cleaner to be around all day.

If you really want this job, don't let this put you off, soon someone else will be employed after you and they will get the job.

It also shows a willingness to be part of the team and do anything that helps with the smooth running of the office.

Sometimes we all have to do things we think are beneath us when we are working up the career ladder.
Reply:It looks like they are trying to get out of having to pay for a new administrator and a cleaner. So they are trying to combine both jobs. But they've got a cheek trying it on like that. Tell them to stick their toilet brush up their U bend.

Why don't we build new electric roads& run clean electric cars & trucks? We need the jobs?

www.permanentenergy.com shows a pollution free fuelless hydroelectric power plant design that is buildable anywhere. These plants can outproduce nuclear%26amp; fusion%26amp; because it is fuelless the power is cheaper than any fueled process. These plants also have 10 times the life span of any fueled power plants. Building these plants would mean millions of high wage power plant construction jobs%26amp; millions more road building jobs.
Why don't we build new electric roads%26amp; run clean electric cars %26amp; trucks? We need the jobs?
Independent electric cars await improvements in capacitors to augment batteries, currently to heavy. Electric roads and elevated thin-tubes for vehicles can be seen here

http://www.hallisystem.bravehost.com

The issue w. electric roads is that laying pickup-lines for use by pantographs (the connector piece of a vehicle to a power line) is non-trivial as it has to be integrateable with existing fuel based traffic. As the car is directionally non-rigid the pantograph needs to sense the line, self-adjust. The line needs to be rain proof, (remember it is not in a subway tunnel). All this can be overcome, but it takes more people like you "wanting" it.

Change your handle to include the word "Hallitube" and make it happen. Look at road electrification graphic on hallitube website.

Reply:oil companies wont let us.
Reply:Even electric vehicles and other machinery require oil for lubrication. It is ture that oil can be derived from plants like corn in place of petroleum oils. The processors and distributors havn't gotten up to the demands of convenience that gasoline has. Your dream may come to fruition if people like you keep asking the questions. There is the possibility of millions of jobs to support the electric road/car but it takes multi-millions and billions to convert from gas to electric. Hope it all works out one day.

I start a new job tomorrow as a cleaner how should i go about making a good first impression?

Don't ask too many questions about health and safety at work, be sensible and work fast. I have been a cleaning supervisor (and a cleaner) and what always made a good impression was people who came to the job looking casual but clean, the people who smiled and were chatty but not overbearingly "matey".

What did I look for ? Clean toilets.... horrible job, but all supervisors check the toilet's been done properly, not just a squirt of blue, but a scrub inside, a wipe round the rim and a mop over the floor.

Corners of the room need to be cleaned, if I look into a corner it's a small restricted space I will notice small objects... if I look across a whole room, I will not notice small objects.

Ask to be shown exactly what you must do, and note it, dont 'list it out' just note it and make sure your boss knows it's and adie memoir for you, not a work list you will only ever stick to.

If in doubt about anything..... ASK (nicely and smile)

If you need to use a floor buffer..... and you have never done it before TELL THEM !!!!! they will know if youre lieing, as you will turn it on and smash it through a wall in two seconds flat unless you know how to use one (instant job looser).

never flirt with the boss, your co-workers will see it and be nasty to you (no matter what sex you are).

never tell your boss if other people are skiving, chances are your boss already knows and will note that you are likely to tell thier boss if they skive too.

NO MATTER WHAT.... never pocket anything.... I used to leave stuff about to see if my staff were honest... and a nasty few were not. I fired them, and kept on the ones who either resisted temptation, or reported objects found to me. (I used old mobile phones under lockers, 拢1 coins on the toilet floor etc.... ). If you find anything like that, pick it up, put it to one side and tell your boss where you put it.

Check first if you want to wear headphones (ipod walkman) while you work, some are OK with it, some not. ( I always let them unless they were working in the kitchens, where I allowed radio)
I start a new job tomorrow as a cleaner how should i go about making a good first impression?
take pride in your work, make sure everything is shiny and clean
Reply:Have a lot of feather dusters hanging from your belt and spray yourself with pledge.
Reply:it is said that action speaks louder than voice. by tomorrow you become a cleaner and cleaning entails making sure where you are to clean is well cleaned. the best impression is to get to work on time and do your cleaning job as though you are competing and would want to be the best.
Reply:Turn up!
Reply:Turn up a little early, be polite and friendly to everyone you meet, dress smartly (if you dont have a uniform) and show you are eager to learn by asking questions.

And as someone has already said, just do your best and you won't go far wrong, that fact you're even bothering to ask how to make a good impression shows you have got the right attitude and I'm sure you will get on well.

Good luck!

Reply:Who thinks working to support their family is the man's job?

If you want a lasting and loving relationship with someone, then you both have to do your part. It isn't going to kill a man to do his part of the housework or to watch the kids. Women often have jobs outside of the home these days, in addition to everything else they have to do. Should a man and woman both get up at the same time, go work their 8-10 hrs., and then when they get home--the man lays on the couch while the woman fixes supper? NOT! Should the weekend be a time for a guy to hang out with his friends, while the woman spends her weekend cleaning house and watching the kids? NOT!

If the relationship isn't equal, then someone is getting used bad.
Reply:Nope. I'll tell you one thing though: if you are a male and plan on living on your own some day, you will probably die from starvation.
Reply:Take it somewhere else.
Reply:The origin of this is biological. Because women had the babies they had the brest milk to feed them. Which meant they had to stay close to the babies. That's how women ended up being more at home and taking on more of the home-based jobs. I mean not necessarily home maybe cave or hut. In modern times these separations are no longer required. So it has changed to a point where these things are not women's work. But most women still do it most of the time because it's cultural and historical. Across the human race.
Reply:My ex-husband is a chef, and my son is a better housekeeper than my daughter. (both are grown)
Reply:Who thinks your question is sexist?
Reply:That is really an answer that is answered differently depending on the cultural perspective and the norms of the society you live in. Much of our culture has grown to having families operate cooperatively, with very little divided by gender. In other parts of the world it would be very unusual and odd for a man to cook and unheard of for a woman to change a tire, or even drive. It really depends where you are.

If you have a hard time fitting into US social norms and prefer a more gender role oriented society, I recommned Russia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Georgia. Those are places that still have clearly defined gender roles.
Reply:Most men. It's cuz we do it so much better - like everything else we do.
Reply:Sure, if she's the only person that lives there. Otherwise it's the responsibility of all occupants of the particular dwelling.
Reply:Not I--In these days where most couples both work--both need to share the chores as well.
Reply:Most modern males feel that the cleaning and cooking is equal to both parties but they would prefer a female to do it. Females feel that men should clean and cook. The only smart way to avoid friction between the sexes is by sharing the chores and by alternating them that way the overall job is done and no one will be made to feel less then equal. Of course if you could afford it the samrt way is to hire someone else to do it...but that is just my opinion.
Reply:You must understand, the US is not the whole world. In most of the world their is still limited technology. Most wages and earnings are by manual labor. Most countries still live life as America and Britain in the 1800's.

In these countries, men still have to work in the field. Labouring 12-16 hours a day. The women stay home minding the children and home duties. In those countries the women do not believe the men are chauvanistic. The women are not "burning their bras". They understand it is a matter of survival. They prey for the technology we have, so that they to can whine and bicker about a small duty like cleaning or cooking. They wish they had the free time to spend on the Net like we do.

These women would not call their husbands "caveman". Statements like that show how arrogant and ignorant the US and UK are. We think because we have technology everyone has the same technology. "Cavepeople" still exist. Men working long, difficult, strenuous days in the field still exist. Women cooking and cleanning, certainly, still exist.

These circumstances are not only in foreign countries. They are also in many mid to mid-western states in the US. As recent News showed, many men are still working in cole mines. Many are still farming, and digging, and working hard jobs. The average American only earns about $18,000 a year.

We have to return to reality. Not every family or couple has the privaledge to bicker and argue about the sexes. Most families are just trying to survive. Most families still believe in team work. The middle-class and upper-class citizens in the US and UK are but a minute fraction of the world's population.
