Job to clean up unnecessary files in computer disk?

There's a job running on the computers of one of our local net cafe which cleans up all the data stored on C drive by the guests. It deletes all the files stored by ppl logged in as guests when system is restarted.

Can you guys help me schedule a job similar to that ?
Job to clean up unnecessary files in computer disk?
u need to have a defintion of unnecessary files for ur job.

For eg in cybercafe they delete all the temp / profile specific data related to the user acount guest. this is done by specifying the path of the folders and files to be deleted in the job

When u doing the same thing to ur pc - u need to be very careful if u really want to do that. u cud inadvertantly delete some useful data that u just happened to save in the wrong place (folders u have marked for deletion in job)

for ur home comp i'd recommend doing it urself periodically. and i don't think it is that big a task. just keep deleting ur browser history, cookies, temporay internet files, autocomplete history (all this u can do from internet tools-%26gt; options) and C:\windows\temp folder regularly

for other files/ data u might have accumulated on ur mac i guess the best and possible way is to fish out useful ones and delete the rest urself.
Reply:Hi,

They probably have some expensive software running which locks out certain areas of the system, or logs what's been moved around.

The simplest way is to just create a limited user account and delete it at the end of the day then create another of the same name afterwards.

If it's just a case of cleaning out your own temporary files then just create a blank .txt file on your desktop. Edit it to read something like:-

@echo off

del "C:\Documents and Settings\User\Temp\*.*"

del "C:\Windows\Temp\*.*"

...Save it, rename it as "Delete Temp.bat" or something similar. Put it in your windows folder and create a shortcut to it in the Startup menu.

Everytime Windows starts up it'll run the bat(ch) file and delete all files in the folders where you specify *.*.

Hope this helps.
Reply:Dear , you can install ace utility software, which cleans ups your computer and you can get rid of unnecessary files and data.

Below link may help you out.
Reply:You could probably achieve the same effect by keeping one system restore point and reverting back to it after the computer is used.

Or just find out the process name and google it.

OR - I'd personally just ask the cafe attendant which program or process they use.
Reply:Use MS Steady State (and it's free)

Once installed it will prevent changes to the system, period.
