Cleaning job?
My father started a cleaning business 30 years ago. Now he owns his own home and has all the money he wants. It has also given him the opportunity to give his children their first job experience. It is a very stressful thing.... he has turned into an asshole, because of the stress. He used to be a normal cool dad....
Reply:Look in the phone book and see how much competition you're facing when it comes to forming a cleaning business.

If you don't see but a few listings, then call city hall or the courthouse and ask how bids for cleaning their offices are handled.

You can get a list of all businesses in your area from you local chamber of commerce. You simply call and ask to speak to a supervisor and eventually you'll get to a person who can tell you how contracts are awarded and what they are paying the outfit that is cleaning their offices now. You do this with every business you can, so that when it's time for a renewal of their contract, you can step in and underbid them. (Try and offer to do the job for less than anyone else. This will get your foot into the door.) Unless a business has used the same cleaning service for years, it will usually always go for the lowest bid.

But you need to sit down with someone skilled in this kind of business and find out all the ins and outs.

Meanwhile, there are people everywhere that need help almost every day with something inside or outside their homes. Especially the elderly. Until you get your larger business going, you might try your hand at yard or house work. That, in itself, is a legitimate business.

Best to you.

Reply:One of the things that you might research when looking at your cleaning competition is what they offer.

Many people now are very wary of the chemicals that are used during cleaning processes. Our buildings are climate controlled and there is no airflow to flush out the, sometimes toxic, fumes.

One of our local cleaning companies are now using people and environmentally friendly products and are receiving a premium on the rates that their competition is charging.

This is maybe a niche that you can investigate. Not only that, but if you get some of your clients to join this company as customers, then you will also receive residual income from their orders.

A cleaning business is a great way to introduce people to these products, and, do you know what?....... they are cheaper per use than most of the cleaning products, filled with nasty chemicals, that you will buy in a supermarket.
