Apart from jobs like nurse, cleaner and flight attendant, which careers are more appropriate for women?

I disagree that jobs like nurse, flight attendant and cleaner are more suited to women. Actually, I think you'll find that men can makes very good nurses, flight attendants and cleaners. I know men that are all of these.





The only jobs I can really think of that are ESPECIALLY suited to women are female actors / models etc. (obviously) and perhaps midwives. Most jobs are pretty gender neutral.
Apart from jobs like nurse, cleaner and flight attendant, which careers are more appropriate for women?
Soldier, president, queen, doctor, scientist, marine biologist, fry cook...





Pretty much anything she wants is appropriate for her.
Reply:I think any jobs that they are capable of doing are appropriate. However, certain jobs, especially those involving physical strength, are more appropriate for men simply because women haven't usually got the strength to cope, firefighter is one that springs to mind.

Careers shouldn't be based on what anatomy one has. It should be based on one's strength, mentally and physically, and interests. Not on whether one's parents dressed one in sky blue or baby pink as a newborn.

Using the word "appropriate" in your question is quite telling. Would you use the same word in a question about men?
Reply:Which is appropriate? Any career is appropriate, if the woman who wants it has the talent, knowledge and drive to competently take it on.
Reply:Can I point out I'm a Chartered Engineer with a MSc, I work within a male environment and never had a problem with any of my work colleagues and I run a design engineering company for the nuclear industry earning a very good salary thank you. I presume you are not so lucky!





A woman in this day and age can do whatever job she wants, and so can a man. Not every woman wants 2.5 children, nor does every man want to be a fireman. Please do not generalise the genders.

Reply:There is no denying that there are jobs more "appropriate" for men and woman, but if the woman can do the same job at the same standard as men then they should have a job with anything that takes their fancy.
