being a custodian part time, only 19. what ya think?

Hey,....if you don't take it there will be at least 100 others that will for half. With the way our economy is going be thankful that at least you were offered a job starting at this pay.
Reply:Rochelle: Be careful with this one. You're already looking at losing 20% of your hourly rate to taxes, so your actual net (take home) earnings per hour are around $11 per hour. Some companies have agreements with airports (that are funded by government agencies) that require that you be union in order to do the job. If they're going to require you to join a union to get this job, don't do it. There may be up front fees to join, and then monthly dues afterward. Subtract union dues from this, and you're back at minimum wage. Also, that kind of rate in an airport would mean that you're working the graveyard shift. Do you mind working while other people sleep, and sleeping while other people are out enjoying their summer?

14.00 right now. The average job in my town pays around


8 to 10 dollars an hour! When I was13 and I worked part time as a janitor helping my dad clean up bars. I was probably the only girl in my school who had cleaned out urinals in the mens' room!
Reply:$14 an hour is good money for a 19 year old. You could also check with temp agencies. If you have any office or computer skills you may be able to find work this way. My 25 year old son is doing this. My 19 year old son is also looking.
Reply:Thats easy money. Look at it this way, no one says this is going be to the job you have to keep untill you retire. I would go for it.

Reply:Good god yes! I would LOVE a job that pays that much, I am currently pulling in $9 dealing with hazardous waste 43 hours a week.
